Meet The Team
Dewi R. Owen - Owner
Dewi founded Egni Energy Solutions in 2018 following almost 15 years of experience in Building Refurbishment, Project Management and Energy Efficiency projects. Dewi has vast experience having previously worked in both the private and public sector and is a qualified Building Surveyor.
Egni Energy Solutions is the result of Dewi seeing the need to support local people in Anglesey and North Wales to build & retrofit local homes to a high energy efficiency standard. Dewi has a passion for having a role in protecting the environment and running a business that has a positive impact on the local community.
Dewi remains very hands on in the business and delivers every service offered by the business. In his spare time Dewi enjoys walking the coastal path, playing pool and watching his beloved Everton (usually lose!)
Gwyn Hennessey – Energy Efficiency Consultant
Gwyn joined the team in 2021, bringing a wealth of experience from his academic background in Environmental Engineering, with a strong focus on energy efficiency projects. Having lived in North Wales for most of his life, he returned home to complete his studies and now plays a key role in our growing team. As a highly skilled consultant, Gwyn holds full qualifications as both a Domestic and Commercial Energy Assessor, and he is also an Accredited Air Tightness Engineer.
Gwyn also leads our ventilation system testing services and works closely with clients to help them achieve their energy efficiency goals through expert advice and guidance.
Outside of work, Gwyn enjoys music—both listening and playing—along with hiking, swimming, reading, and exploring craft beer.
Amy Slater – Energy Efficiency Consultant
Amy joined us in early 2023 as Office Manager, bringing with her a strong background in administration, project coordination, and over a decade of experience running her own successful business. Her passion for sustainability was sparked after installing renewable technologies in her own home, which led to a growing interest in the green agenda.
Since joining the team, Amy has embraced opportunities to upskill through our staff training fund. She has since progressed to the role of Energy Efficiency Consultant and now delivers comprehensive SAP Assessments and Domestic EPCs. Amy is dedicated to supporting our customers every day in creating and retrofitting energy-efficient homes.
Pip Oliver – Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) & Finance Administrator
Pip joined Egni Energy Solutions in 2025 and has quickly become an important part of the team. Now a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), Pip carries out EPC assessments across North Wales while also supporting the office with invoicing and issuing jobs and reports to clients. Her role helps ensure projects move smoothly from booking through to certification.
Pip completed her DEA qualification through our staff training programme — a reflection of our commitment to developing in-house expertise as the company grows. With a background in higher education and experience running her own business, she brings strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a professional approach to every project.
